Overview

The individual will be required to oversee, manage staff and data, and implement funded programs in Los Angeles County Jail and local State Prisons. Formerly incarcerated applicants welcomed, however the person hired must be able to be cleared to work inside locked facilities. Flexibility, reliability, creativity, some supervisory experience are important characteristics of this position. Local applicants only, previous applicants need not apply.
Minimum Requirements: Masters Degree. Experience with reports, curriculum writing and program evaluation. Demonstrated knowledge of behavioral interventions, health problems facing incarcerated populations, applied health services, HIV/AIDS and HCV issues and prevention strategies. California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals (CCAPP) certification preferred. Experience working on government and/or service contracts is needed. The candidate should have excellent people, communication, and resource identification skills. Previous paid work in the HIV/AIDS field desirable. Experience working with Microsoft Word and Excel and the Internet necessary. Comfort dealing with issues of sexuality, race, and substance use required.
