Location: Kendalia, TX Website: Areas of Responsibility: Applications are now being accepted for Animal Rescue Coordinator at Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation, Inc. Established in 1978 as a non-profit organization, Wildlife Rescue (WRR) receives over 7,000 wild animals per year for rehabilitation and release as well as providing permanent sanctuary for over 300 non-releasable indigenous and exotic wildlife. WRR is currently moving to a new site on 187 acres located in Kendalia, Texas. Primary responsibilities of the position involve busy phone communication with the general public regarding wildlife issues and the resolving of these issues through advice or action. The Animal Rescue Coordinator is responsible for contacting volunteers in order to arrange animal rescues on a daily basis and with the receiving of injured, ill, or orphaned animals at the sanctuary. To be considered for this position, the applicant must be at least 18 years of age. Effective and professional communication skills (written and verbal), high tolerance for stressful situations, and a patient disposition are mandatory. A pleasant, positive attitude as well as a general love for animals are essential. Starting pay rate is $7.00 per hour, with benefits to begin after a favorable 90-day orientation period.
