Purchasing Manager for manufacturing of high pressure cleaning equipment (gasoline powered pressure washers). Approve and control all material purchases for the company. Manage and plan the activities of all buying activity in support of Production requirements while meeting or exceeding company objectives for supplier performance in quality, delivery and price. Provide leadership for all purchasing related issues and responsibility for sourcing and management of all company sources, supplier development, negotiations, supplier quality, follow up and interface issues. Lead company effort to develop and implement systems and procedures to maximize operating efficiencies and cost effectiveness. Assure that all purchased material is scheduled in compliance with MRP and build plan requirements. Interface with suppliers continuously regarding price/cost issues, timely delivery, quality and reliability of products. Recruit and maintain suppliers that provide high quality products and services at a better price while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct. Interface closely with Master Scheduling and Planning regarding supplier scheduling and delivery issues. Assure that an effective manner is established for dealing with any purchased excess and obsolete inventory and implement necessary preventive measures to avoid future E & O exposure. Create a continuous improvement, team oriented environment within the Purchasing department and maintain department ISO policies and procedures. Work with Customs to ensure correct procedures are being followed. Use both word processing and spreadsheet software as well as the internet.
