The Warner College of Natural Resources (WCNR) at CSU is currently seeking an individual to serve as an instructional technology specialist and webmaster. The person in this position will work directly with WCNR faculty and coordinate with several campus technology units. The focus of activity will be to extend the use of new technologies in the areas of curriculum, student recruitment and distance learning missions of the college. Responsibilities The coordinator will be responsible for providing advice and support to faculty as they adopt technology in the classrooms including, but not limited to, presentation software, CD-ROM, on-line course creation and delivery, interactive computer-based multimedia, interactive learning systems (clickers), video and web. The person in this position will also be responsible for developing and maintaining the structure and appearance of the WCNR web service. This will include the use of graphics, audio and animation, coordinating with college and department administrators for content and developing web-based data gathering mechanisms. Additional duties include managing and monitoring the performance, usage and security of the web servers. Qualifications B.S. degree (Masters preferred) with a concentration in instructional or educational technology, communications or related field. Preference will be given to those with two or more years directly relevant experience in higher education, particularly to applicants having experience providing support for technology-delivered curriculum materials, and those with demonstrated interest and experience in pedagogy. Extensive experience in HTML authoring and graphics editors with demonstrated layout and design skills using CSS is required. Must have strong interpersonal skills and practical experience in teaching and writing for a general audience. Highly desirable skills include building and maintaining web servers, practical use of graphics editors, and demonstrated use of various scripting and database tools including Cold Fusion, MySQL, PHP and perl. Proficiency with both Windows and Unix operating systems a plus. Experience with WebCT beneficial. Salary Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
