Direct daily operations of department by developing standards and setting deadlines. Prepare and review operational reports. Design and architecture of complex 250+ Terabytes Storage Area Network based on Hewlett-Packard Enterprise Virtual Arrays EVA5000 and EVA8000, LUN provisioning, masking, selective storage presentation. Administration of Brocade Director 2/128 enterprise level switches. Zoning, Fiber Channel cabling, load-balancing. Storage provisioning for heterogeneous environment such as Linux, SUN Solaris 8 and 9, Windows, SGI IRIX, HP-UX 1 1i and Tru64 operating systems. Administration of HSV110 RAID controllers. Firmware upgrades and patches. Implementation of no-single-point-of-failure architecture such as Compaq Tru64 TruCluster. I/O load balancing on Compaq StorageWorks and HSG80 controllers. Volume management of directly attached SCSI devices and storage space available over SAN with Veritas Volume Manager. Migration of existing application to clustered environment. Manage database, security and system backup. Provide users support and response on calls. Review and approve all systems charts and programs prior to implementation. Evaluate organization's technology use and needs and recommend on equipment purchases. Maintain highly available clustered core internet company infrastructure including DNS master server, TruCluster based SMTP mail system, SSH access point for remote users. Configure and maintain clustered services such as IMAP and POP3 services, NFS, clustered Apache web server, DHCP, SMB, NTP, FTP, UUCP, LP servers, CVS. Configure Compaq RAID controllers HSZ40, HSG80, SWXCR and Compaq RA8000 StorageWorks. SAN administration, including Brocade Fibre switch configuration and SCSI routers, utilization and configuration reporting, file system management, backup administration and scripting. Configure Logical Volume Management software on multiple O/S platforms including Tru64 LMS and AdvFs domains managements. . 40 hrs/wk. M.S. in physics or computers + 2 yrs. exp.
