Assist in trauma assessment and administer first aid. Monitor condition of surgery recovering animal. Prescribe medication, and/or perform surgery to treat sick and/or injured animals. Dress and suture wounds. Set bones and apply splints, and other protective devices. Administer compliance vaccinations to animals against rabies, parvo, and other diseases. Examine for heartworms, ringworms and other parasites, flea infestation as well as ticks and ear problems. For examination and analysis as well as execution of laboratory tests will extract blood, urine, feces, and/or body tissue. Operate, read and interpret imaging of ultrasound and x-rays. Advise animal owner on care, for injury, general care, feeding and sanitary keeping. Educate on disease control to avoid spreading to humans utilizing knowledge in epidemiology. MS in Veterinary Medicine + 1 year experience as Veterinary Technician or Intern.
