Research, investigate, study & advise physician regarding potential effect of drug reaction & interaction and side effects of prescription drugs on pre or post surgical patients. Study effects of drugs, gases, dusts & other materials on tissue & physiological processes of animals & human beings: Experiments with animals, such as rats, guinea pigs & mice to determine reactions of drugs & other substances on functioning of organs & tissues, noting effects on circulation, respiration, digestion or other vital processes. Standardizes drug dosages or methods of immunizing against industrial diseases by correlating results of animal experiments with results obtained from clinical experimentation on human beings. Investigate preventative methods & remedies for diseases, such as silicosis & lead, mercury & ammonia poisoning. Analyzes food preservatives & manufacture of drugs & medicinal compounds. Doctor's degree in pharmacology req. w/ 4 yrs. exp. in job offered or 4 yrs. exp. as Pharmacologist. 40 hrs/wk.
