Interview patients, take medical & personal history employing principles of traditional Chinese medicine, perform diagnostic procedures, prescribe herbal and/or nutritional treatment; in appropriate cases, also administer acupressure or acupuncture utilizing knowledge of the anatomy of the body with muscle insertions, nerve distribution, trigger point assessment, neuromuscular understanding for rehabilitation of the patient including stretching exercises for pre and/or post surgery patients, workmen's compensation, industrial medicine, as well as occupational therapy; research in Traditional Chinese Medicine reference books; coordinate diagnostic & treatment procedures with staff M.D., consulting as to appropriateness of Chinese medical health counseling; all functions performed under general supervision of M.D.; write special indications to patient when needed. Responsibilities include all related research in original medical texts. 40 hr/wk. Must have a Master's degree in Oriental Science. California Acupuncturist license required.
