Apply principles and technology of chemistry, physics and engineering in the production of durable and maintenance-free building materials of either metal, sheetrock, or wood in order to create one product which contains the basic material containing the finished look. Perform tests throughout stages of production to determine temperature, pressure, density, etc. as the plastic is infused with a different combination of colors for desired effect utilizing knowledge of chemical technology of plastic masses.. Develop safety procedures in the handling, distillation, drying, crushing and mixing of chemicals, colors and materials. Perform laboratory studies of step in manufacturing of product. Modify production where and when needed. Ensure safety compliance by directing activities of production workers. Develop new and/or improved chemical manufacturing processes by conducting research. The production of custom-made baseboards and crown molding are faux marble or granite or gold, etc., as well as custom-made production of sheetrock which is covered in plastic and is custom faux design of either color or materials such as gold, bark, wood grain, marble, granite, etc. Report to management production costs and progress. Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. + 2 yrs/exp.
