Project Engineer. Plan, coordinate, direct & participate in planning, designing &/or reviewing plans for erection of structures requiring stress analysis: Design, build, renovate, remodel & earthquake retrofit commercial & residential structures, incldg multi-family dwellings by estimating load requirements, computing size, shape, strength & type of structural members & perform structural analysis of plans & structures. Inspect existing projects & recommend repair & replacement of defective members &/or rebuilding of entire structure. Review project specifications & confer w/engineers concerning assistance required, such as plan preparation, acceptance testing, evaluation of field conditions, design changes & reports. Conduct materials testing & analysis using tools & equipment & applying knowledge necessary to conduct tests. Surveys project sites to obtain & analyze topographical details of site. Drafts detailed dimensional drawings, such as those needed for structural steel fabrication. Inspect construction site to determine conformance of site to design specifications and to ensure conformance of quality control requirements for seismic retro-fitting. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. 2 yrs. exp in job offered or 2 yrs. exp. as Civil Engineer. 40 hrs/wk.
